Tripwire Interactive announced that a free Ray Tracing update for their single-player action-RPG Maneater (@maneatergame) is now available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Built from the ground up for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 systems, today's Maneater update brings the Gulf Coast to life by enhancing the realism and appearance of real-time reflections on the surface of water as well as the refractions above when looking up from below. The improvements to the visual fidelity of light reflections and refractions off the waters of Maneater are best seen via screenshots here.

In addition to adding Ray Tracing support, today's update also delivers a wide array of quality-of-life and optimization improvements designed to improve stability and performance across all platforms, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Maneater is a single player, open-world action-RPG (shARkPG) where YOU are the shark. Starting as a small bull shark pup you are tasked with surviving the harsh world while eating your way up the ecosystem. To do this, you will explore a large and varied open world encountering diverse enemies -- both human and wildlife. Find the right resources and you can grow and evolve far beyond what nature intended, allowing the player to tailor the shark to their play style. This is fortunate, because to get revenge on the cruel fisherman that dismembered you will take evolving into a massive shark, an apex predator of legends. Eat. Explore. Evolve.
